Get access denied error while reset it's path to the default location, how can i fix it?

I tried to use the folder properties to move my Downloads folder. Unfortunately, I when I tried to move it to the location I wanted it to be and it said "Can't move the folder because there is a folder in the same location that can't be redirected. Access Denied", I then tried to reset it to the default location, but it is throwing an the same "Access Denied" error. Is there any way to get it fixed without rolling back my system to a previous date? Also, the Downloads folder is in a One Drive folder and I don't want it there if that helps.

Hi Tanya,

When OneDrive sync client is running and synchronization is turned on for your user shell folders, the folders can't be relocated via the Location tab.

Please open OneDrive and turn off synchronization for the folder you want to relocate. To do so:

  • Open OneDrive settings via the taskbar notification area.
  • Click "Sync and backup", and click "Manage backup".
  • Uncheck the "Documents" folder.
  • Click Save changes.

For more information and screenshots, check out the following guide.

Note: The Downloads folder can be relocated to the default path via the Location tab. Let me know if you're able to move it.
