I need help getting my Windows to activate.

My computer was just cleaned and repaired. Before I had it cleaned, I was positive that I was registered. (I had to have the dust removed and a CPU component replaced, which is actually a minor part.) After I received it back, I was unable to use the Windows key, and the message "Activate Windows; Go to settings to activate Windows" appeared in the lower right corner of my screen.

(Note: I had the CPU fixed at the official store.) I apologize for my grammar, as English is not my first language.

Nevertheless, I am unable to access settings since I am unable to utilize the Windows button. During my recent exploration of my options, I discovered the Windows page with the button indicating that I may activate my Windows. However, as soon as I pressed the button, a message stating that the class was not registered appeared on my screen.

I need to know if there are any more ways i can do to successfully activate my windows, thanks a lot.

Thank you for that information, the best option then is to perform an in-place repair with the Windows ISO to stabilise your Windows installation.

Please follow the steps, this is then not like re-installing Windows, it is just like an update and your personal files, settings and installed software will not be affected.

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), then choose ISO, not USB

When the ISO file completes downloading

Disconnect from the Internet

Disconnect all external devices with the exception of a mouse or keyboard.

Temporarily disable any 3rd party Anti-virus you may have installed

Then, in Windows File Explorer, double click the ISO and then run Setup.exe and select the Install option.

Hello! I am back with an update, I followed each step you told me to. After a couple of hours, I opened my device, and it finally worked! I am so grateful and I wish I had asked for help sooner, thanks a lot! I really appreciate your help and assistance! I am now able to use the start button in the screen and as well as in the keyboard. Thanks again!

Hello! i have tried this and have also restarted my pc, and it still does not work. i came back and checked if all my steps are correct, and I am pretty sure I followed the instructions correctly. However, I do have a question, is this how it is supposed to look like after i pasted the commands in the powershell?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Your Windows installation seems to be very corrupt, try using these steps first to see if you can get the Start Button and meu working.

Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)

Click File - Run new task

Tick the box marked 'Create this task with administrative privileges'

Type regedit into the box and click OK

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WpnUserService

On the right hand pane, double click 'Start'

Change the value date to 4 then click OK

Close the Registry Editor

Paste this command into Powershell and hit Enter

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost | reset-AppxPackage

Close PowerShell and restart (not shut down) the PC.
