Keeps prompting "Add a recovery phone number" but my phone is already added for recovery

I keep getting prompted anywhere I use my Microsoft account to "add a recovery phone number" but when I do, it says my phone number is already added for recovery. I also have a recovery email added.

How do I get this prompt to go away?

Hello! My name is Renzo, and welcome to the Microsoft Community.

This could be caused by a mismatch in the account settings, a security measure, or a glitch in the system. Here's how to resolve it and hopefully stop the prompt from reappearing.

    1. Confirm Your Recovery Phone Number
    • Go to the Microsoft account security page: https://account.microsoft.com/security.
    • In the Security section, look for the Recovery options area > Security info, you should see the recovery phone number listed
    • If the phone number is there, ensure it's correct.
    • Check if the prompt still appears
    1. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies on your Browers
    2. Remove and Re-add Your Phone Number
    • Go to Security Info as described above.
    • Find your Phone number listed under Recovery info.
    • Click Remove next to the phone number.
    • After it's removed, click Add Security Info to add your phone number again
    1. Check for a Microsoft Account Security Update
    • Go to Microsoft Account: https://account.microsoft.com.
    • Check for any security alerts or required actions, such as updating security settings or verifying your identity

It may be due to a required security update or a specific Microsoft account issue.

Let me know how it goes or if you need more help.
