I have tried almost every solution found online and in Microsoft.
I cannot uninstall apps or perform ANY other function because I cannot login as administrator.
This from your website....

Click Start, search for Computer Management, and open it.

  1. Expand Local Users and Groups, click Users, right-click Administrator in the right pane, and then click Properties.
  2. Click to clear the Account is disabled check box, and then click OK.

"Local users" is NOT available and when I type in an offered solution for that, I am asked to "login in as administrator". Which, of course I am unable to do.

Hello,

Is it because your current user is not administrator type, but standard user only?

On this computer, it doesn't have an admin at all, or it has an admin, but you don't know the password?

If it doesn't have admin at all, there's a way to recover admin access.

Hold down Shift key while you choose Windows restart, then go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings, click on restart, then choose option 4.

When prompted for password, leave it blank and enter.

When you are in safe mode, hold down windows + r keys, type in netplwiz and press enter.

Then double click on your username, go to Group Membership tab, make it admin.

Restart, log back into your user. You should now have admin access.

    Took a couple shots (rest assured it was due to some OE) but your solution appears to have worked.

    I haven't tried to uninstall a program or l, apparently, perform any other operation which required admin approval (or whatever it was called). Hence my confusion this morning when admin approval "Yes/No" showed up with no "Yes". And that administrator function was changed.

    Do you perhaps have a thought as to what might have caused this operation to suddenly change? Hacked maybe?
