Hello,

All the components of my Windows Update are stuck at Downloading - 0%. In addition to this, my Microsoft Store does not download/update anything, and hasn't done for many months.

I've tried the steps from this thread: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-11-update-always-stuck-at-0/a76b623b-786a-41a1-a32f-7614099b5588 but was left with a screen that said 'This PC can't be upgraded to this version of Windows.'.

Please help!

Thanks
Oliver

Thank you for letting me know.

You’re currently running Windows 11 Pro, version 22H2, which actually reached end of service on October 8, 2024. This means it’s no longer receiving security updates or support from Microsoft. Reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/ann...

The latest version is 24H2, and it’s possible that some steps were missed or not followed exactly during your previous in-place upgrade attempt.

If you get error while following the steps below please let me know.

To get your device up to date, the best course of action now is to perform a Repair Upgrade. This process upgrades your system to the latest version of Windows 11 without affecting your personal files or apps.

Here’s how to do it:

> Download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from the official Microsoft website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

> Open the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade your PC.

> Make sure to choose the option to Keep personal files and apps.

> Ensure your device stays plugged in and connected to the internet during the process.

The process will download and restart your PC several times. This may take some time, so please be patient and do not interrupt the process.

This should resolve the issue and get your system updated to the latest supported version. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out.

I really hope this information is helpful! :)

    Hi John,

Thanks for your response. I did indeed try the in-place upgrade with the ISO.

    Here's the screenshot requested.

    Thanks

    Oliver

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

From the link you followed, did you try doing an in-place upgrade using the ISO file?

Could you provide me with a screenshot of your current Windows OS Build?

To do this, press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog, type "winver" (without the quotes), and capture a screenshot (make sure not to include your email address), and attach the screenshot in your next response.

Click "Reply" below to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.
