Defender for Cloud Continuous export setup

Hello,

I want to set up Continuous export in Defender for Cloud but I see the following error when I save the configs.

Failed to update export settings
The subscription is not registered for the resource type 'automations' in the location 'westus3'. Please re-register for this provider in order to have access to this location.

I re-registered Microsoft.Security in Subscription Resource providers but still getting the same error.

How can I fix the issue?

    Hi,

    There is a Resource Provider named Microsoft.Automations. Can you register that for your subscription and try again ?

    Error Message:
    Failed to update export settings: The subscription is not registered for the resource type 'automations' in the location 'westus3'. Please re-register for this provider in order to have access to this location.

    I wasn't able to reproduce your issue, but from your error message and since you already re-registered the Microsoft.Security Resource Provider in your Subscription can you see if using Azure Policy or the Automation REST API to set up continuous export resolves your issue? For testing purposes, I'd also try using another user or selecting another Resource Group outside of West US 3, to see if you receive the same error message.

    Additional Link:
    The subscription is not registered to create resources for the selected resource type - This customer was having a similar issue because they were on a VPN.

    If you're still having issues setting up continuous export through the Azure Portal, Azure Policy, or Automation REST API, please let me know.
