Hi, i need help setting up NIC Teaming on 2 HP servers running windows server 2019

I'm setting up two servers which are linked to two separate switches for redundancy, i am teaming two ports on the servers so that they have the same address, when i remove power from one switch to simulate a failed switch then everything works fine, but when i just put one cable to simulate a broken cable i loss all connection, its as if both servers are looking at one switch and only when both loss that switch do they move to the other switch?

is there something I'm missing on setup or is this just a limitation to NIC teaming ?

thanks

See these links on the different teaming modes. Probably you want Switch Independent mode. Also, it may take a minute or so for the adapter to refresh after an outage. Further, there may be some settings on your switch that could be impacting it as well. For instance, if the ARP table keeps the reference in the cache for long, it may take a bit more before one switch starts broadcasting to the other switch for refreshed IP address resolution.

If the switches are connected via backplane or run at Layer 3 and appear as one logical unit, LACP would be the better choice in that topology.
