Hi, are connection monitor able to do end to end monitoring like from front end server to backed/db when traffic goes trough load balance? Monitoring every step and giving then latency between every component. I can set multiple destinations to test group but can I link them together?

Hi there, Connection monitor provides you "hop"-based monitoring (that can be used to end-to-end monitoring too). The collected data of connection monitors is stored in metrics and log analytics workspace, you can aggregate the whole data in Log Analytics workspace and "link" and "manipulate" as you need. KQL is here.

But if I set destination to the database it self dosen't it go strait trough to database without going via load balancer and if I sen destination to load balancer it will never go to database?

Yes. Actually you can't go directly to the database. You can go to the IP address hosting the database

If you want to check availability of the database, perhaps it's better to use a script-based approach and run the script in Azure Automation Account or Azure Functions, store the results\output to Log Analytics Workspace.

Another option is using SQL Insights, but because it's under public preview long time, it can never be as GA.

My bad, I ment ip-address of the database, not directly to database but If i understood correctly Connection monitor do not support my type scenario (from front -> lb -> database ip)?

This will work. You will be able to see the LB hop as well
