windows server backup question

We are in the process of switching to a new file server for a company that mainly has laptops running Windows 10.
Initially, we were going to deploy windows server 2019 but I stumbled upon a post that talked about Windows Server 2022 offering SMB compression which speeds up data copying dramatically if you have a later version of Windows 10 or copying from windows server 2022 (as long as it is supported in both client and destination.

Beside Robocopy, are you aware of any copy tools that support SMB compression? I have searched around but could not find any tools that can be run as a service and support SMB compression. I know it is fairly new but wanted to check.
Ideally, we would load the tool on the client laptops and have them sync automatically when they are in the office before, they hit the road again. We do not want to count on them to do it because it failed in the past.

Also, if someone knows how good the SMB compression is, would be great to know from someone with first-hand experience.

    Now you can force the SMB compression windows Win11 and windows server2022 and the best practice with it, please check these links

    And you can use GS RichCopy 360 which I use recently, it supports SMB compression for windows 11 and windows server 2022, it can run as a service, can sync automatically, schedule tasks and many other features.

    Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query related to SMB compression.

    For now When the server is capable of SMB compression, it accepts the request. Examples are when mapping a share or when using tools like Xcopy, Robocopy, or PowerShell.

    if you want 3rd party file explorer, third-party copy tools, or applications to use compression, map the target shares with compression and enable compression on shares.
