Access Updated to Edit but File still Opened in Read-only Mode

My coworker shared a file with me in SharePoint. I can edit the Excel File when using a web access where the file is opened in Microsoft Edge, but when I move the editing to my Excel app the file cannot be edited, stating it is "read-only". My coworker explained to me that she already gave me edit access so it should be working, but the thing is it is not working as intended.

    I tested it in my environment and cannot reproduce your problem. Therefore, some information needs to be confirmed with you:

    1. How did your colleagues share the files with you? Is it by mail or something else?
    2. How did you open the file with Excel app?
    3. Please send me some screenshots of the problem.
      It is recommended your co-workers to stop sharing, delete traces of sharing, and then re-share with you to see if the problem is resolved.
