HI All,

We are facing some issues while running the report in SCCM. We have latest SCCM CB version, when we run any report from console or directly in the SQL reporting server. It takes 25 to 30 mins to process, we found Intrusion prevention service policy is causing this issue.

When we disable it, it reduce the generating time to 5 to 10 mins. Does anyone faced this issue, what needs to be allowed in IPS to process quicker report

Appreciate your response

btw i should also add that 5-10 minutes for most enviroments is a long time. i would check your Sql health to see if there is anything that can be done such as enabling ola's script. https://www.recastsoftware.com/resources/installation-guide-to-ola-hallengrens-sql-server-maintenance-solution/

    Hello there,

You need to maintain your SQL DB regularly, like rebuilding indexes, etc. There is a good chance the reason for this is a defragmented underlying SQL Server database. Therefore you should rebuild the indexes which can be done in various ways and with different tools.

SQL Server Reporting Services uses the Reporting services point account to retrieve the data for Configuration Manager reports from the site database. Make sure all the necessary services are running and not being tackled by malware services.

The below thread discusses the same issue and you can try out some troubleshooting steps from this and see if that helps you to sort the Issue. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c12eb3b3-4292-48ab-a52c-59e605686753/sccm-report-takes-forever-to-load?forum=configmanagergeneral

    Thanks all,

Weird, we saw network traffic to internet from SQL server to Internet via 443. Not sure why it is trying to communicate outside the domain

After enabling the internet the reports are fast and normal now. Any insights on this please

Any specific URL i need to open for SQL services
