Error "Template deployment failed" while migrate Azure Classic VM to ARM

I started the "Migrate to ARM" procedure on Azure portal to migrate my production Azure Classic VM to ARM. The validation and the Prepare steps passed without problems.

But when committed the process, occurred the error "Template deployment failed" with the message:

An unexpected error occurred while processing the network profile of the VM. Please retry later. Template xxx-Template deployment failed. CorrelationId=xxx.

I started a support ticket that guided me to retry the procedure but when I go to start again the "Migrate to ARM" there is a message:

Committing migration. This operation may take some time to complete.

and I cannot rerun the migration any more.

Now I can't start the server or rerun the migration.

@aVar - Thank you for reaching out to us and being patient while we were working on resolving this issue for you.

Thank you for confirming with our support after all the troubleshooting and debugging, that you were successfully able to deploy the template while migrating from azure classic VM to ARM.

Reason for the issue is that the fabric was taking too long to delete a resource, and RDFE failed. Actions need to be taken on the backend to clear out a couple of commit "stuck" failures. After that, you can try to remigrate, and it should deploy as expected.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us and will be happy to help.
