We will do hardware upgrade and virtualization for our current server. currently running in dc, db and terminal roles. In order to save time, if I set up 2 separate server 2012 virtual computers on a windows 10 pro computer and export these virtual computers after making the necessary settings, can I import and run the VMs that I exported from these windows 10 hyperv when I install hyperv on the real server? Will it work fine as production server? So is there a compatibility problem with windows 10 pro hyperv and server 2012 r2 hyperv vm export import? regards.

    Hi,

Based on my understanding, you would like to create VMs on Windows 10 Host, then export and import to Windows Server 2012R2.

Generally, it should be supported to export VMs from Windows 10 host to Windows Server 2012R2 host, while there's might meet some VM configuration version not match issue. We are limited to test it for you, you may try if it work in you lab.

In order to avoid the configuration version not match, if export & import not work, I would suggest you copy the VMs VHD to Server 2012R2, then use the VHD file of the VMs to create a new VM on Server 2012R2.
