Now i want to modify this project with this specifications: up to 12 buttons 16-bit x axe 16-bit y axe 8-bit wheel If I want a 12 buttons for my mouse, i would need to develop a custom driver? or there are an option to not develop a driver? Windows natively understands 5 buttons (left, right, middle/wheel, 4 and 5) and the inbox driver will report them. It will not report the additional buttons. How do you want the extra 7 buttons to be used? Without knowing what you want to do with these extra buttons, the guidance for "I want to add extra capabilities to a mouse or keyboard HID" is to put these additional reports into their own top level collection with a custom usage page and then open this separate top level with your app, read the data, and perform whatever custom processing you want.

Thanks for the answer, I think that I understood the theory, but the HID descriptor will be something like this? 79056-mouse-hid-16buttons.txt

If I understand the HID descriptors how will be the output? Will be something like this:

buffer[0]= button8...button[0] where button[0] = right click button[]
buffer1 and buffer[2] = x axes
buffer[2] and buffer[3] = y axes
buffer[4] wheel
buffer[5] = new features

Every array is 8 bit.

I have more questions, what will be the correct Top-Level Collections to use in this case?

One thing I don't understand is like a call of duty type game, can it understand these buttons?

If i have two Top Levels, in the hid descriptor in necessary to use the report id (one for mouse and one for extra buttons)?

CoD or or any other application will NOT understand the extra buttons by default. How would they know what to look for? The only way applications would understand these extra buttons would be for the application vendor to document what the (not pointer) HID needs to look like to be consumed by the application. And each application could have different expectations.

You are still reporting 8 buttons in the pointer usage, you want to scale that back to 5. And then report the extra buttons in the vendor usage page. You don't have to use the pointer usage (0x09,0x01,//Usage (Pointer)) in the vendor top level collection.
