Cannot have duplication connection info location in ADC

Question

Cannot have duplication connection info location in ADC

When I create an asset with same location of a previous location the previous asset is overwritten by the new asset. I cannot seem to have multiple assets with the same location

Azure Data Catalog > Home

Register your data sources > Publish Data

Create Manual Entry

Entered data on the Manual Entry screen

Source Type: Other

Connection Info (required) > Location field: entered a url

Saved item

Created another manual entry to create another data source

Source Type: Other

Entered same url in Connection info > Location field

Saved item

When I saved the second item the first Data Catalog source item disappeared, could not find it, could not search for it so I assume it was deleted

I am using the Azure Data Catalog to track source data as well as I make entries to track integrations and other applications so multiple Azure Data Catalog assets (objects) may have the same connection location

Re-registering an already-registered data source performs a merge “upsert” operation: existing objects are updated, and new objects are created. Please refer to this doc: Update registrations

Thank you for the information, you confirmed what I was seeing, you cannot have multiple objects with the same data source. I do think this is a deficiency since the object record is being keyed from the object source. I think having the flexibility to have multiple objects defined with the same object source would be nice functionality to have available.
