Hi, everyone.

I'm trying to update my laptop with this 2021-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5003637) but I keep getting this error (0x800f0831).

I checked the CSB log and this is what i'm getting

I think there's a lot of it and I don't think i can put everything here.

Anyone who can give me an advice regarding what to do about these errors?

    From your CBS.log, many windows components or files have corrupted, try to use sfc tool to repair them.
    Run dism command first then run sfc command.
    Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files (microsoft.com)

    Next, reset windows update components.
    Right click on the start button and select Powershell (admin) or Command Prompt (admin)
    Write the next hit enter after each line.

    net stop wuauserv
    net stop cryptSvc
    net stop bits
    net stop msiserver
    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
    net start wuauserv
    net start cryptSvc
    net start bits
    net start msiserver

    After completed, restart computer then manually download and install KB5003637 from Microsoft catalog.

    did you get anywhere with this, I have the same errors in cbs log for server 2016 and it won't update and i can't add roles and features.

    Nothing new here either.
    As a workaround, I can access my old computers from the new if I first run Network Reset on the old machine. But I have to do this every time the old machine is booted. Most of the time it is easier to just use a USB drive to transfer files.

    Otherwise, the permissions error comes up blocking acccess almost every time. Yes, that's right, "almost". Every now and then when both machines are started up, access is allowed in both directions! Go figure.

    This is either a Dell or a Microspft problem and they both simply point fingers at each other and will not help.

    God help us if these guys are working on defense systems!

    For the Windows update error code:

    Try these troubleshooting steps:

    Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

    sfc /scannow
    dism / online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    If the above do not fix the underlying problem then uninstall any of these non-Microsoft software and perform an in place upgrade repair:
    a) antivirus
    b) firewall
    c) drive encryption

    Message Description Mitigation
    CBS_E_STORE_CORRUPTION; CBS store is corrupted. Corruption in the Windows Component Store. Repair the component store with Dism RestoreHealth or manually repair with the payload from the partially installed component. From an elevated command prompt and run these commands:
    DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /SCANHEALTH
    DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /CHECKHEALTH
    DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RESTOREHEALTH
    Sfc /Scannow
    Restart the device.
