How to add private endpoint in Stream Analytics cluster for Synapse workspace?

I want to add a private endpoint in Stream analytics cluster for Synapse sql database. My Synapse workspace is configured with in a Vnet. In private endpoint creation popup, Synapse resource is not available to select from resource list.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum and thanks for posting your query.

In order to create a private endpoint in Stream analytics cluster for Synapse SQL database. Please follow below steps.

1. Go to ASA cluster settings
2. Then select Managed Private endpoints, then click Add.
3. Then provide the Private endpoint name, connection method, Subscription details.
4. For Resource type you will have to chose Microsoft.Sql/servers
5. Then in the Resource section drop down you should be able to see your Synapse SQL database listed.
6. Select the Synapse SQL database and then click create. Please see below image.
7. Once after creating a private endpoint, you will see it listed under Managed private endpoint with state as Pending Customer approval .
8. Then go to the target resource i.e., Synapse SQL Database instance/workspace and you should see a pending connection that should be approved. It might take a few minutes for connection request to show up.
