Excel files on network drive fail to open

I have a Microsoft Server 2019 Standard with MS Office installed. I also have a Linux server that shares each user's ~/windows/ directory through Samba with their Windows account when they're logged in. However, when they open a .xslx file located in the said directory, the following error appears:

"Sorry, we couldn't find \AppData\Local\Microsoft\INetCache\Content.MSO\111191F2.xlsx. It is possible it was moved, renamed or deleted?"

Opening up the location reveals that the file is indeed there, which hints at some problems with privileges. Opening the file on the network drive as Administrator works, which again hints at problems with privileges. Sadly, I haven't been able to debug this.

Saving the file locally and opening it after works without any problems.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    @Tomáš Sláma

    From an office perspective, I suggest you add this ~/windows/ directory path to the Trusted Locations.
    Please go to Excel > File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > tick the box of "Allow Trusted Locations on my network", then click Add new location, then tick the box of "Subfolders of this location are also trusted".

    For the permission of folders, these such issues are out of my support scope, as the tag "office-excel-itpro" focus more on general issues of Excel client. Thanks for your understanding.
    I personally suggest you could try to use icacls tool to see the permissions on %APPDATA%.
    The reference thread, please checkout "Can any user access the %APPDATA% folder".
