Issue with Azure DMS creation

Hi ,

I have tried to create the Azure DMS for SQL Server migration but it is asking me to install Azure Data studio and Azure SQL Migrate. I used DMS earlier also but it didnt ask me to install any software. Can some one please confirm if there is any setup we need to do to avoid Azure data studio.

Could someone pls advise on this question. I referred the below 2 tutorial and found that both are having different steps and process but when i try to create DMS from Azure portal it is different.

The Azure SQL Migration extension for Azure Data Studio enables to use the new SQL Server assessment and migration capabilities that Azure Data Studio is providing. That is the reason DMS is pushing for its use.

Azure Database Migration Service prerequisites that are common across all supported migration scenarios include the need to:

Download and install Azure Data Studio

Install the Azure SQL Migration extension from the Azure Data Studio marketplace.

@Alberto Morillo Thankyou for the response. I found a option (selected second one) to migrate the server without Azure data studio in DMS.

Give it a try to Azure Data Studio once you finished your current project. You may like the new features.
