In case you are using the latest version of the Visual Studio and you have updated your Windows, then this issue look like a bug.

VS - no syntax error warnings nor highlighting - Windows 11 (edit)
EDIT:
I use Visual Studio in combination with Unity, and after upgrading to Windows 11 I no longer get syntax error warnings nor highlighting, but my code does compile.
If I have any syntax errors in my code Unity will ofcourse let me know, VS however won't.
Tried sollutions:
-Reinstall Unity
-Reinstall Visual Studio
-Try older or newer releases for both VS (2019/22) and Unity (all the builds from this year)
-With all of these installs I double checked settings etc.
OLD:
Hello,
Using Visual Studio (2019 & 22) I have this issue where I get no syntax error warnings nor highlighting.
This started happening after my upgrade to Windows 11 (from 10).
I looked into the issue and it seems I am missing Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (KB2736182).
(I assume this is the reason I am having these issues with VS)
However, this pack is not suported for windows 11. (does not install, see image)
How do I resolve?
