Export to excel funtionality works only once when a page is loaded at first

I have one usercontrol which has a button in it. This button exports the data from the Gridview of the page to a excel sheet.

The data in gridview is bind from the database, the gridview has paging enabled.

The problem is this button works only once when the page is loaded at start and captures the data on the first page of gridview. When we move to second or any other page the excel is not downloaded. there is no error as well.

This usercontrol is called in a web from in updatepanel.
