We have a new Windows 11 laptop that we are trying to connect to our Windows Server 2008 R2 for an employee to work from home. However, the printer redirection is not working properly. It works on the old Windows 10 machine that she was using before, but not the new one. Any insight you could provide would be most helpful.

Thanks and have a wonderful day!

    Hello JStruck,

I would suspect from the known issue "Connections to printers shared via print server might encounter errors." resolved in the https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/november-22-2021-kb5007262-os-build-22000-348-preview-7f3e18d7-4189-4882-b0e9-afc920253aee

Would be a good idea to run Windows Update, to see if there is anything pending.

But, here's a suggestion for solutions you can use if that doesn't fix it.:

    1) make sure the following registry key value is set to 1 (enable redirect)

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Terminal Server \ Wds \ rdpwd \ fEnablePrintRDR

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Terminal Server \ Wds \ rdpwd \ fEnableRDR

    2) Check if the KB5003538 update is present on the device, if it is, remove it from the system.

    3) See if in recent updates there is any for .Net framework, if there is, remove it completely and then restart the device
