Hi,

Our organization recently purchased 64nos. of System Center Data Center Core 2019 Licenses to onboard SCVMM and SCCM system center components. The total core license will be divided among SCCM and SCVMM. In our infra, we have two AD domains without trust between them. SCCM will go to one domain and SCVMM will go to the other.

Our understanding is System Center Data Center Core license comes with SQL server license which can only used for system center components.

As our SCVMM and SCCM are in two untrusted domains we are planning to have 2 different VMs for SCVMM & SCCM and also the SQL databases for these components will be running on two different SQL servers in two different domains.

Domain A
SCCM Part of Domain A -> Dedicated SQL only for SCCM in Domain A

Domain B
SCVMM Part of Domain B-> Dedicated SQL only for SCVMM in Domain B

Will there be any additional SQL Standard license to be purchased if we go with this approach?

Note: On these SQL servers, we are not hosting databases of any additional Microsoft or third-arty products. This will be dedicated for SCCM and SCVMM.

Based on my understanding, System Center uses core based licensing model. It has nothing to do with the number of domains.

According to the scenario, I don't think you need to purchase additional SQL standard license.

To get better understanding about the licensing, I would recommend to visit the website by clicking the following link. Also, it's a good idea to contact the reseller for more detailed information.
