MariaDB versions higher then 10.3

Hi Guys,

What is Azure view at MariaDB versions? Because the current stable version is 10.6.8. And I can only choose for 10.3 in Azure.

    Hello everybody,

    That is unfortunate. I was about to ask the same question. 10.2 is out of support since the end of May => https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb-server-release-dates/

    In one year, 10.3 will be unsupported as well. It seems that with version 10.6, mariadb switched from "normal" releases to long- and short-term support releases. Therefore it would be great if it was possible to choose 10.6 as long-term support version in the not-so-distant future. :)

    Hello,

    Is there any update on this? v10.6 is the minimum norm which the clients are expecting now!

    Close to 12 months now. What a bummer. v11 is soon to be the newest stable version and v10.11.3 is the current stable one and Azure, one of the biggest cloud vendors out there, is still offering v10.3 as the max version? We are highly dependent on Django which will drop its support for 10.3 with v4.2.

    The proposed "solution", to migrate to MySQL, is not acceptable.

    The latest version available for MariaDB in the Azure portal is currently 10.3. However, what I learned is, it seems the MySQL Flexible server provides a newer community version and more advanced platform features as an alternative option.

    Since MySQL is open-source and supported by all major cloud providers, this could be the preferred option.

    Also, look like MariaDB v10.2 and v10.3 are still highly compatible with MySQL 5.7 where a simple dump (logical backup) and restore can help customers migrate to MySQL.
