Skype for Business Client - Exchange Credentials Prompt Expected Behavior

Quick question about expected behavior for the Skype for Business client on Windows 10 / 11.

The environment is on premise SfB 2019, and on premise Exchange 2016.

When any user starts the SfB client while on the domain network, there are no credential prompts. If outside of the domain network (and therefore traffic is using an Edge server and RP), the "Exchange needs your credentials" prompt appears in the SfB client. If the credentials are entered correctly and the save box is checked, EWS works and they are not prompted again.

Is the single Exchange credentials prompt expected behavior when off the domain network, or is this potentially a result of misconfiguration?

    Hi @byrd23

You don't need to worry about it! This is an expected behavior when outside the domain network. Lync generally prompts you for credentials only after you're signed in and when it must connect to an external service such as the Microsoft Exchange Free/Busy service or the Exchange Calendar service.
