I ran into an issue yesterday regarding the PNP-SharePoint module in Azure Automation whereby it indicated that it was able to be connected to with Managed Identity, but that there were limitations to the capabilities it has when connected that way? This is troubling since some of this is unknown at the time of design and time waste is the result when finding something cannot be done via a method that Microsoft has pushed us to migrate to.
These are my questions:
Is there a list of all the apps/modules/etc. that can be connected via Managed Identity? If that list exists, does it indicate limitations for each if they exist? Is there a timeframe for when the limitations will be lifted so we can pursue Managed Identity for all connections without worry that something isn't able to be done if that method is selected?

Thanks so much for that information. It should be helpful when working with Azure services going forward. I didn't seen anything relating to Exchange online or Microsoft 365, maybe I over looked that information in my quick scan. Are they included in what you provided or would them be found somewhere else if they even exist?

What are you looking to do with Exchange online/Microsoft 365?
I was hoping to be able to connect to them via Azure Automation or web services in Azure as they all require credentials and if we are migrating to Managed Identity, it would only make sense to be able to connect to those as well. Actually, anything we need to connect to would be helpful, including things that are not Microsoft related. Maybe provide vendors of API's a way to integrate with Microsoft Identity as well? Just my two cents on the topic, may be a reason why that wouldn't be able to be done, but it sure would be convenient.
