The Government of India offers many special incentive schemes to Indian importers. These schemes are available for imported products that are used to manufacture exported goods. Standard Input Output Norms (SION) contain guidelines that apply to the types of inputs, or materials, that can be imported without paying a customs duty. These materials must be used to manufacture standardized exportable products. Licenses for certain incentive schemes, such as Advance Authorization (AA) and Duty Free Import Authorization (DFIA), are issued only for products that are listed in the SION.
You must complete the following tasks to set up details about SION in Microsoft Dynamics AX:
Set up product groups.
Attach a product group to each item.
Set up the SION.
Assign products to the SION.
