Namespace:  Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo
Assembly:  Microsoft.SqlServer.SmoExtended (in Microsoft.SqlServer.SmoExtended.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public Property BufferCount As Integer
    Get
    Set
'Usage
Dim instance As BackupRestoreBase
Dim value As Integer

value = instance.BufferCount

instance.BufferCount = value
public int BufferCount { get; set; }
public:
property int BufferCount {
    int get ();
    void set (int value);
}
member BufferCount : int with get, set
function get BufferCount () : int
function set BufferCount (value : int)

Property Value

Type: System.Int32
An Int32 value that specifies the total number of I/O buffers to be used for the backup operation.

Remarks

You can specify any positive integer. Using a lot of buffers might cause "out of memory" errors because of insufficient virtual address space in the Sqlservr.exe process.

The total buffer space used is the following product: buffercount * maxtransfersize.
