Available Tuning Options
Database Engine Tuning Advisor offers users the capability to tune workloads with the dta command-prompt utility or the application's graphical user interface (GUI). Either through the GUI or the command prompt, users can specify the types of indexes and partitioning for Database Engine Tuning Advisor to consider in a recommendation, whether to keep or consider dropping existing indexes and partitioning, and the maximum disk space that recommended configurations can consume. For a complete reference of all dta utility options, see dta Utility. For information about the options available in the GUI, press F1 when the Tuning Options tab is selected.
