Remarks
A data flow component returns a value from this enumeration in the Validate method that indicates its readiness to execute. VS_ISVALID is the only success value contained in the enumeration and indicates that the component is properly configured, has no errors, and is ready to execute.
The other three values indicate failure. For example, VS_NEEDSNEWMETADATA indicates that errors have occurred that can be repaired by the ReinitializeMetaData method. The specific value returned by a component is not visible in the designer, rather, a component raises information about the failure using the FireError, FireWarning, and FireInformation methods of the IDTSComponentMetaData100 class.
