IVMVirtualPC::RemoveConfigurationValue method

[Windows Virtual PC is no longer available for use as of Windows 8. Instead, use the Hyper-V WMI provider (V2).]

Removes the value of the specified configuration setting.

Syntax

HRESULT RemoveConfigurationValue(
  [in] BSTR preferenceKey
);

Parameters

preferenceKey [in]

The key used to identify the preference, as stored in the configuration file.

Return value

This method can return one of these values.

Return code/value	Description
S_OK 0	The operation was successful.
E_POINTER 0x80004003	The preferenceKey parameter is NULL.
E_INVALIDARG 0x80000003	The preferenceKey parameter is not valid or is an empty string.
VM_E_PREF_NOT_FOUND 0xA0040300	The preference was not found.
VM_E_HARDWARE_VIRTUALIZATION_DISABLED 0xA0040951	The processor does not support Hardware Accelerated Virtualization (HAV) extensions.
DISP_E_EXCEPTION 0x80020009	An unexpected error has occurred.

Remarks

This method provides low-level access to any preference value for the current user. It can be used to remove preference values for customer-defined keys.
