Configure authentication to PayPal

Important

This feature is in Beta. To use it, a workspace admin must turn on Lakeflow Connect for PayPal from the Previews page. See Manage Azure Databricks previews.

This page shows how to configure PayPal to enable authentication from Azure Databricks for the PayPal connector. Use the credentials you obtain from the steps on this page to create a Unity Catalog connection in Azure Databricks.

Prerequisites

  • A PayPal Business account. To ingest test data, you can use a PayPal sandbox account instead.
  • Access to the PayPal Developer Dashboard for that account.

Configure PayPal

The PayPal connector authenticates with OAuth client credentials from a PayPal REST API app. In this step, create or select an app, enable the features the connector needs, and note the credentials that you enter on the connection page. For more information, see Get client ID and client secret and How do I create PayPal REST API credentials?.

  1. Sign in to the PayPal Developer Dashboard.
  2. Click Apps & Credentials.
  3. Select Live to ingest production data, or Sandbox to ingest test data.
  4. Under REST API apps, select an existing app, or click Create App to create one.
  5. Note the Client ID and Client Secret. Use these credentials to create a Unity Catalog connection in Azure Databricks.
  6. In the app's Features section, select the features for the tables that you plan to ingest, then click Save Changes. For the features that each table requires, see Required PayPal app features.
