This page describes best practices for connecting your Azure Databricks workspace to technology partners using Partner Connect.
Use single sign-on
When possible, connect your chosen technology partner to Azure Databricks using single sign-on (SSO). This lets you use security and governance controls implemented in Unity Catalog on Azure Databricks and access audit data.
Host partners and Azure Databricks in the same region
Try to host your technology partner and Azure Databricks as close together as possible, ideally in the same region. This minimizes network latency and might help avoid cross-region traffic costs.
Use gateway clusters
If applicable or possible, use gateway clusters to connect to Azure Databricks workspaces secured with IP access lists or Private Link. This avoids single points of failure and load-balances traffic across gateways in a cluster.
