How do you disable the "Do you want to open ... From: ..." promt when trying to open a file from sharepoint library in the application?

Hi everyone,

we've had a problem with opening files from a sharepoint library for a while now.

Everytime we click on a word/ppt/excel file it opens up another tab in the browser (edge), asking "Open this file? Do you want to open ... From ...", looking like this:

If you select open, it opens the file in the application but leaves an about:blank page.

Despite depositing the url as trusted site and enabling the "Launching applications and unsafe files" option in the security options, the warning keeps popping up.

This scenario creates similar problems with other browsers as well, such as Firefox or Chrome. It opens an about:blank page and downloads the file.

When opening the same files via the file explorer it works just fine.

Any ideas as to why this is happening and how you can solve his?

Hallo Sonja,

Wenn Du ViewInFileExplorerEnabled aktiviert hast, wird in Deiner SharePoint-Bibliothek möglicherweise die Schaltfläche Ansicht in Explorer angezeigt. Wenn Du jedoch auf die Schaltfläche klickst, wird ein leerer Bildschirm angezeigt. Dieses Verhalten wird in diesem Artikel beschrieben:

Kannst Du versuchen, die Ansicht im Datei-Explorer mit Edge mithilfe von Gruppenrichtlinien zu aktivieren?
