Teams mute logic

Hi,

it seems that Teams does not accept the authority of Windows mute. In other words, Teams can only be muted inside the settings. This is my scenario using Poly Sync 20 and latest(!) Teams.

In the screenshot: Windows Speakers is muted, but acoustic is still active (sound is output at speaker). Teams does not "take over" the setting (see settings speaker icon).

Even if this is expected, it is untypical, and then there should be muting icon in Teams in principle next to Mic!

Kind Regards

Hi Micro My name is Umar, and I'd be happy to help you out with your question.

Please note: This is a user-to-user community forum. We are users just like you who help others. We are not employees of Microsoft.

It seems that you are experiencing an issue with Teams not syncing with the Windows mute settings. However, I can provide some general troubleshooting steps that you can try to resolve this problem:

    1. Restart Teams: Close and reopen the Teams application to see if the issue resolves itself.
    2. Check audio settings: Go to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Microphone, remove Teams from there, and re-add it again This may help Teams to properly access the microphone settings
    3. Ensure that you are using the latest version of the Teams application, as updates may include bug fixes and improvements that could resolve the issue.
    4. Disable audio processing features in Teams: Some users have reported issues with Teams not showing the mute status of their headsets. Disabling audio processing features in Teams might help with this issue. You can find the settings mentioned in the search result.
    5. Update Teams and audio drivers: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Teams and that your audio drivers are up-to-date. Outdated software or drivers can sometimes cause compatibility issues. You can check for updates by visiting the Microsoft Teams website and the website of your audio device manufacturer.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
