Customize message when user requests password reset

Hi there!

As an ms365/office365 password admin of several schools I would like to know if it is possible to customize the message pupils/teachers recieve when they request a password reset. It is intended that they are NOT able to reset them on their own. The thing is if they forgot their password, and such thing just happens with a dozens of accounts - especially if you have only your crush in mind - then they recieve disturbing experience:

  1. Enter email-address again and fill in some anti-bot form
  2. Recieve a message from Microsoft that they apologize that their orginazation (we) did not set up password reset properly and some cryptic stuff for them. In German:
    "MICROSOFT
  3. Optional: If they are tough enough to click the link at "Administrator" I will get a notification that a user wants to reset his password.

I would say that your organization did not set up this properly by default because we want it exactly like this. So, is there a possibility to customize this to achieve following behaviour:

When user clicks on "Password forgotten" I recieve an email and the user gets a customized message, probably after a final confirmation!

Thanks in advance for your support, You are great! (sorry for poor English)

Chris

Thanks for your feedback. In that case, I suggest you to create a ticket using the Microsoft 365 admin console.

Dear Jose, thank you for your quick reply!

I checked your link and my role allows me to watch the following:

It looks like this is already disabled, but I will ask my boss-admin on wednesday what it looks like with a privilleged acount.

To clarify: Adapting the email when requesting a new password would also be nice because there is the bullet point in further steps to advice all customers about the new credentials. (Which is kind of irritating for the user that recieves the new email with his personal access). But this is not my problem, I learned to accept that, to live with it so to say. The problem is that when a user requests a new password from the login screen to office.com (embedded or not), than this three steps mentioned above appear.

E.g. a user wants to change his PW and clicks the link ("Kennwort" means "password", "eingeben" means "enter" and "vergessen" means "forgot"):

Secondly user has to achieve anti-bot task (that i could never solve at the first step)

Finally there come the apologies with a hint that his or her "organization did not set up password reset properly". This simply is not the truth because it is set up properly as we like it exactly like this for several reasons. The main problem here is that the user has to push the link to trigger an email that is sent to me as role "password administrator":

My question would be how to make this common task not looking like a bug by Microsoft or an error by us. I will check on wednesday with boss-admin to disable this feature and then I'll be back.

Thank You a lot so far :)

Hi Chris, my name is Jose, a Microsoft products user like you. I'll be glad to help you today.

I'm sorry to hear this. By Design, this email cannot be customized. In order to avoid the issue, I recommend you to disable Password Reset function. This only apply to end users. Please go to this url:
