Hi ,
If it's the same computer, do you just change the SSD?
Thanks

I had Win 10 Pro and did a clean install to Win 11 Pro on a different drive (different SSD). My windows was connected to my account because I upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro to Win 10 Pro back in the day. I logged in to my PC with my Microsoft account but Win 11 is not activated. I tried to activate it, also tried out the troubleshoot and picked the "recently installed on new hardware" option.
The two devices which are displayed to me there on the next page, are my Laptop and my old PC (older SSD). So I pick my old PC with the old name and press activate but then it says Windows can't be activated. On my Microsoft account accessed through the browser, the two devices which are displayed are my Laptop and this time my new PC with it's name.
What is going on, why can't I activate windows? My Microsoft account on my browser clearly shows that the new device is registered.
