Finalized guidance published for WSS 3.0 support

As I announced earlier this year, we have provided guidance on how to configure TFS 2005 to work with the latest version of SharePoint known as WSS 3.0.  If you haven't tried out this updated version of SharePoint, you really should...it's much improved over previous versions.  We use it quite a bit within our team to enhance our collaboration efforts.

At the time we released the guidance, it was positioned as a "release candidate" since we wanted to make sure there weren't any real problems with it before pushing it on to MSDN.  Based on the feedback we've received and the testing we've done on the configuration, we're ready to call it good.  To access the updated guidance visit the Visual Studio Team System TechNotes site and look for TN1501 and TN1502. Additionally, if you have already followed this guidance, there is no need to make any changes. The updates were primarily cosmetic with some added text for specific error conditions you might encounter depending on your configuration.

Please try it out and let us know what you think.

Jeff, Thanks for the update.  I'm still a little bothered with the statement: "Microsoft does not officially support the procedures outlined in this document."

I followed the instructions in TN1501, but it fails at step 10 as follows: C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft Sharedweb server extensions12BIN>stsadm -o addcontentdb -url http://athena:81 -databasename WSS_Content_TFS WSS_Content_TFS on Athena contains user-defined schema.  Databases must be empty before they can be used.  Delete all of the tables, stored procedures and other  objects or use a different database.
