UTF-7-Codierung wird hauptsächlich in Umgebungen verwendet, die in der Vergangenheit auf 7 Bits beschränkt waren, wie z. b. NNTP und einige e-Mail-Anwendungen. Aufgrund von Problemen mit Stabilität und Sicherheit sollten Sie die UTF-7-Codierung nicht in 8-Bit-Umgebungen verwenden, in denen stattdessen UTF-8-Codierung verwendet werden kann.
