This method creates and initializes an IImageEncoder interface to output to a file in a specified image format.

Syntax

HRESULT CreateImageEncoderToFile(
  const CLSID*    clsid,
  const WCHAR*    filename,
  IImageEncoder** encoder
);

Parameters

• clsid
  [in] A pointer to a CLSID value that specifies the encoder's COM component.

• filename
  [in] A WCHAR array containing the name of the output file.

• encoder
  [out] A pointer to the resulting IImageEncoder interface pointer.

Return Value

If successful, this method returns S_OK.

This method may return E_POINTER if it fails.
