Mit dieser Berechtigung kann bestimmt werden, ob Aufrufcode aus einer bestimmten Zone stammt. Zonen werden mithilfe der Optionen von Microsoft Internet Explorer konfiguriert und werden entsprechend dem URL durch IInternetSecurityManager von Internet Explorer und verwandte APIs zugeordnet. Für die Berechtigung werden nur exakte Zonenübereinstimmungen definiert. Ein URL kann nur zu einer Zone gehören.

  • Zone Lokales Intranet: Die Zone Lokales Intranet wird für Inhalte im Intranet eines Unternehmens verwendet. Da sich die Server einer Organisation innerhalb des Firewalls befinden, wird Inhalten im Intranet eine höhere Vertrauensebene zugewiesen.

  • Zone Vertrauenswürdige Sites: Die Zone Vertrauenswürdige Sites wird für Inhalt in Websites verwendet, die als vertrauenswürdiger als andere Sites im Internet eingestuft werden. Mithilfe dieser Zone können Sie bestimmten Sites im Internet eine höhere Vertrauensebene zuweisen. Hierzu müssen die Benutzer die URLs der vertrauenswürdigen Websites dieser Zone zuordnen. Standardmäßig wird Sites in der Zone Vertrauenswürdige Sites keine höhere Vertrauensebene zugewiesen als denen in der Zone Internet. Die dieser Zone zugewiesene Vertrauensebene muss von dem Benutzer bzw. der Organisation geändert werden, wenn für die enthaltenen Sites eine höhere Vertrauensebene festgelegt werden soll.

  • Zone Internet: Die Zone Internet umfasst die Websites im Internet, die in keiner anderen Zone enthalten sind. In der Standardeinstellung wird für Code, der von diesen Sites gedownloadet wurde, nur minimaler Zugriff auf die Ressourcen des Computers zugelassen. Websites, die keiner anderen Zone zugeordnet sind, werden automatisch dieser Zone zugewiesen.

  • Zone eingeschränkter Sites: Die Zone eingeschränkter Sites wird für Websites verwendet, deren Inhalt beim Downloaden möglicherweise Probleme verursacht oder zuvor bereits Probleme verursacht haben könnte. Durch diese Zone kann verhindert werden, dass von diesen Sites gedownloadeter Code auf dem Computer des Benutzers ausgeführt wird. Die URLs der nicht vertrauenswürdigen Websites müssen dieser Zone vom Benutzer zugeordnet werden.

  • Zone Lokaler Computer: Die Zone Lokaler Computer ist eine Zone für Inhalt, der auf dem Computer des Benutzers vorhanden ist. Der auf dem Computer des Benutzers vorhandene Inhalt wird auf sehr hoher Vertrauensebene behandelt. Davon ist jedoch Inhalt ausgenommen, der von Internet Explorer im lokalen System zwischengespeichert ist.

In .NET Framework, Versionen 1.0 und 1.1, können Identitätsberechtigungen nicht den Berechtigungszustandswert Unrestricted haben. In .NET Framework, Version 2.0, können Identitätsberechtigungen jeden Berechtigungszustandswert haben. Das heißt, dass Identitätsberechtigungen in Version 2.0 über das gleiche Verhalten verfügen wie Berechtigungen, die die IUnrestrictedPermission-Schnittstelle implementieren.
