Connect to an IBM DB2 Universal Database

For this procedure, in Management Agent Designer, on the Connect to Database page, you connect to an IBM DB2 Universal Database and provide information about the database to be synchronized. You must also provide a user account and password to log on to the IBM DB2 Universal Database. The user account that you specify must have at least Read rights for the database. Each time that the management agent is run, it uses this information to log on to the IBM DB2 Universal Database to read or write to the table or view that you specify. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the FIMSyncAdmins security group.

To connect to an IBM DB2 Universal Database

  1. In Management Agent Designer, on the Connect to Database page, in Database, type the database name.

  2. If this management agent will perform a full import of data from a table or view, in Table/View, type the table or view name.

  3. If this management agent will perform a delta import of data from a specially configured delta view, in Delta View, type the name of the view.

  4. If this management agent will perform import and export of multi-value attributes from a specially configured table, in Multivalue table, type the name of the table.

  5. Under Authentication, type a user name and password.

Note

You are not required to install FIM on the server that is running the IBM DB2 Universal Database. However, for IBM DB2 Universal Database version 8.1, Connect 9.5 FP5 or 9.7 FP1 must be installed on the server running FIM.

Note

Configuring a management agent for import from a delta view has special requirements.

Note

Configuring a management agent for import and export from a multi-value table has special requirements.

Note

For import mode, the user account that is provided must have Read access rights to the database table or view that you want to synchronize. For export mode, the user account that is provided must have Write access (that is, Insert, Delete, and Update) rights to the database table or view that you want to synchronize.

Note

You can select only one table or view per management agent.
