Pause a crawl of a particular content source
Use the following procedure to pause a crawl of a particular content source.
Hinweis
You must be careful not to pause crawls for too many content sources at the same time, because each content source that is paused consumes memory and CPU resources on the index server.
Pause a crawl of a particular content source
On the Shared Services Administration page, in the Search section, click Search settings.
On the Configure Search Settings page, in the Crawl Settings section, click Content sources and crawl schedules.
On the Manage Content Sources page, point to the content source you want to crawl, click the arrow that appears, and then click Pause Crawl on the menu that appears.
Hinweis
The value in the Status column changes to Pausing for the content source you selected.
Note that the value in the Status column on the page does not change when the crawl is paused. To update the Status column, you must refresh the Manage Content Sources page by clicking Refresh. When the crawl is paused, the value in the Status column changes to Paused.
Pause a crawl of all content sources
Use the following procedure to pause crawling of all content sources that are currently being crawled.

On the Shared Services Administration page, in the Search section, click Search settings.
On the Configure Search Settings page, in the Crawl Settings section, click Content sources and crawl schedules.
On the Manage Content Sources page, in the Quick Launch, click Pause all crawls.
Hinweis
The values in the Status column change to Pausing for all content sources that are being crawled.
Note that the value in Status column on the page does not automatically change when the crawls are paused. To update the Status column, you must refresh the Manage Content Sources page by clicking Refresh. After all crawls are paused, the values in the Status column change to Paused for all content sources being crawled.
Resume a crawl of a particular content source
Use the following procedure to resume a crawl of a particular content source.

On the Configure Search Settings page, in the Crawl Settings section, click Content sources and crawl schedules.
On the Manage Content Sources page, point to the content source that is paused, click the arrow that appears, and then click Resume Crawl on the menu that appears.

The value in the Status column changes to Crawling Full or Crawling Incremental (depending on the type of crawl that is being performed) for the content source that you selected.
