setCharacterStream Method (SQLServerCallableStatement)

Sets the designated parameter to the given Reader object, which is the given number of characters long.

public void setCharacterStream(java.lang.String sCol,
                               java.io.Reader r,
                               int i)

Parameter

sCol

A String that contains the name of the parameter.

r

A Reader object.

i

An int that indicates the length in number of characters.

This setCharacterStream method is specified by the setCharacterStream method in the java.sql.CallableStatement interface.

When the length (i) is set to -1, a stream is allowed, but a specific length is not required. If the Reader passes a stream of a different length than what is specified, the JDBC driver will stop the update while it tries to preserve the connection and the current transaction.
