Uninstalling and Reinstalling Devices

There are occasions when you must uninstall a device from your computer, such as when you upgrade to a newer model device. Removing the device driver is a best practice as long as you do not intend to use that device again. This section includes procedures to help you uninstall and reinstall devices.

Task requirements

The following is required to perform the procedures for this task:

• You might have to restart the computer to complete this task.

• Device Manager. Device Manager is included with the Windows operating system.

To complete this task, you can perform the following procedures:

• Uninstall or Reinstall a Device

• Eject or Unplug a Device

• Undock a Portable Computer
