Note
2022 release wave 2 introduced a redesigned Intrastat experience with enhanced features. To learn more about the new Intrastat experience, go to Set Up Intrastat Reporting. This article describes the previous functionality, which you can only use if you haven't upgraded your Business Central.
The new Intrastat feature is enabled automatically in 2024 wave 2 release, and the old Intrastat feature is deprecated.
In Business Central, there are two types of declaration:
- Simplified declaration
- Extended declaration
The type of declaration depends on the amount of shipped or received goods. To determine the type of declaration that you should use, visit the National Bank of Belgium website.
When you use the extended declaration, you also need to set up an Incoterm in Intrastat declaration for each shipping method. The Incoterm in Intrastat Decl. field exists on the Shipment Method page but is hidden by default. If you don't see it, personalize the page to show it, or ask your administrator to make the field visible.
Set up declaration types
- Choose the
icon, enter General Ledger Setup, and then choose the related link. - Select the Simplified Intrastat Decl. checkbox to set up a simplified declaration type. Clear this field to use extended declaration.
- Choose the OK button.
