Why do appointments disappear from my shared Outlook calendar after they have been saved?

I share an Outlook calendar wife my wife through Microsoft Exchange. For the last week or so, I have not been able to enter appointments into the shared calendar. After I save the appointment it appears momentarily in the calendar and then disappears. My wife has had no problem entering appointments from her Outlook, and I can see the appointments that she has entered.

    I share an Outlook calendar wife my wife through Microsoft Exchange.

    Noticed you've added the tag "Microsoft Exchange Online" as well, so you meant both you and your wife are in the same organization which uses Exchange online, and you shared your calendar with your wife, granting her the edit permission so that she can also create events on the calendar, right?

    In order to help narrow down if it's an issue with the Outlook desktop client, please give it a shot by create appointments from Outlook on the web and see if you are able to save the event into the calendar.

    If there's no issue in OWA, it's suggested to run Outlook in safe mode from your side. This helps eliminate whether it's caused by any 3rd party add-ins in your Outlook client:

    1. Exist Outlook.
    2. Press Windows key + R, type "outlook /safe", press Enter.

    Noticed in the other thread you posted (this link) that you also met the issue of failing to dismiss Outlook reminders in a shared calendar. Both symptoms match what mentioned in known issue for outlook.com account:

    So are you actually using the outlook.com accounts? If yes, please refer to the workaround mentioned in the official document to turn off Shared Calendar Improvements:
