Shift key button sudden strange behavior

When I press "Shift" key (either right or left side), I get strange character, some example: 5/+{}YT and often it open the project options (that can be invoked with Windows key+ P).

5/+{}YT and opening project options are just example, however, it can insert some other characters as well.

No changes has been made, it was working fine before. I am using Windows 10, 22H2. Have installed all available updates from Microsoft + BIOS update and any Firmware updates from vendor (Lenovo in my case).

Sticky Keys, ease of access has been checked and both settings are "off".

Has anyone experienced the same? Is it common or something specific to my device? Any ideas will be appreciated.

    Hello there,

Are you getting the same behaviour in onboard keyboard also?

As this behaviour occurs only on shift keys we can assume that this is not an hardware issue.

Have you tried plugging in another keyboard to see if the problem persists? Have you connected your keyboard to another machine to verify that the keyboard itself is faulty?

    a) Press Windows key +X, select Control panel

    b) Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons

    c) Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel

    d) Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter

Hope this resolves your Query !!
