When I send mail as another user the sent mail only appears in my sent items and not the person that I sent it as

I have permission to send email as another user. When I send the email as them, the sent email only appears in my sent items, not in the user I'm sending as sent items. I am able to view and send emails as them, but it isn't a shared mailbox.

    Is this for Exchange Online? If so, you can toggle the flag to have messages saved in both the delegate and delegator's mailboxes.
