Hi,

  1. I would like to understand what are the system generated tables in the storage accounts. This can be located under storage account -> storage browser -> tables (toggle show system generated tables). See the screenshot. Screenshot 2023-07-08 at 11.27.56 PM
  2. This is increasing my monthly pricing. Is there any way to stop using this service?
  3. What will be the cons of stopping this?

    Hi,

The system-generated tables you are seeing are for storing Classic metrics. This is the backend storage for generating the charts you see in the portal for your storage account. They are being retired on August 31, 2023.

You may adjust settings such as what items are tracked, how many days before deleting data, etc., by navigating to the storage account -- Diagnostic settings (classic) blade. Article below describes this in more detail:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/manage-storage-analytics-logs?tabs=azure-portal

Please see article below for details on transitioning to Azure Monitor and key differences:

Transition to metrics in Azure Monitor

Please click Accept Answer if the above was useful.

    Thanks.
